Lummen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈlʏmə(n)]; Limburgish: Leume [ˈløːmə] or Lumme [ˈlʏmə]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Limburg near Hasselt. On January 1, 2006, Lummen had a sum population of 13,691. The total area is 53.38 km which gives a population density of 256 inhabitants per km.
