Aarschot (Prononciation néerlandaise : [ˈaːrsxɔt] ) est une ville et une commune de la province du Brabant flamand, en Flandre, en Belgique. La commune comprend la ville d'Aarschot proprement dite et les villes de Gelrode, Langdorp et Rillaar. Au 1er janvier 2019, Aarschot comptait 30 106 habitants. La superficie totale de la commune est de 62,52 km2, ce qui donne une densité de population de 446 habitants par km2.

It is located in the allocation of Flemish Brabant called Hageland, located to the east of Leuven. Aarschot is a very typical town taking into account a long history, dating help to the epoch of the Roman emperors, according to myths. Aarschot was hit very difficult in World War I. When German troops occupied the city upon 19 August 1914, Colonel Stenger, commander of the 8th German Infantry Brigade, was shot dead upon the balcony of the town hall. The German reprisal was very harsh.
Many houses were set on fire and 156 people were executed, including Mayor Tielemans and his 15-year-old son. The next day, the entire population was ordered to evacuate the city.
